Bodegas Henri Lurton Wine and Chile Dinner
September 27, 2018 at 6:30 pm
This year Sazon is proud to feature the wines of Bodegas Henri Lurton at our Santa Fe Wine and Chile Dinner.
Long ignored by oenophiles, the Valle de Guadalupe located in Baja, Mexico, is fast becoming one of the world’s hottest and well respected wine regions. Like in so many areas of the world where quantity, as opposed to quality, was the main economic driver of the market, the Baja wineries are now focused on quality and showcasing the unique terroir of the region. We are proud to be enthusiastic supporters of these extraordinary wines and we feature many of the region’s top wines on our menu. At the forefront of the Valle’s wine revolution is Bodegas Henri Lurton where Lourdes “Lulu” Martinez Ojeda and her team are producing world class wines. Henri Lurton, legendary master of Bordeaux wines and owner of the Grand Cru Classé, Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, has placed a confident bid on the area. Lulu, after working for almost 10 years at Château Brane-Cantenac, has returned to her hometown of Ensenada to bridge the divide between France and Mexico. Her wine making skills produce wines of great finesse and she has clearly raised the bar for other wineries who now seek out her skills on an advisory basis.
Chef Fernando Olea has, as always, put together an incredible meal that perfectly complements Lulu’s wines. We think you will be mightily impressed with Lurton’s wines and the evening is sure to be a success with Lulu in attendance.
